X-Men: First Class Gets Release Date

In the “always a good idea to set a release date before even beginning filming” category, Fox has announced that X-Men: First Class will be released June 3, 2011. Yes, as in the June 3, 2011 that is 1 year from now. Matthew Vaughn (director of Kick-Ass) has signed on to direct. The 5th film in the X-Men franchise follows a younger Professor Xavier and Erik Lensherr as they work together to develop their powers and unite humanity before becoming sworn enemies as Professor X & Magneto. Presumably, it would also show the origins of the original team of X-Men.

After Fox ruined the universe and killed off most of the characters in X-Men: The Last Stand, a reboot / origin story was really the only way to continue the franchise. The Whore is STILL bitter that Marvel allowed the travesty of a movie to be released, but is cautiously optimistic about this one. Are YOU willing to forgive Fox & give the X-Men another shot?
