A trailblazer. A comedic legend. An actress. An icon. Joan Rivers was born Joan Alexandra Molinsky on June 8, 1933. She began performing stand up on The Tonight Show and was the first woman allowed. She went on create and host The Late Show and later, a daytime show The Joan Rivers Show where she won an Emmy. She authored 12 best selling books. Ms. Rivers passed away today, September 4, 2014, after complications arose following throat surgery. She was 81 years old and still working full time.
