Toy Story 3 Breaks Box Office Records!

Wow! Pixar has done it again! Toy Story 3 brought in $109 million over the weekend! On Friday, it brought in $41 million to break the box office record for biggest animated opening day of all time. It also holds the title for biggest June opening of all time. It is also Pixar’s biggest opening numbers in its long history. And, this keeps Pixar’s record of consecutive #1 films – their 11th. The $109 million weekend did not match Shrek The Third’s opening weekend of $122 million, but Toy Story 3 is on track to beat out its total box office gross. Jonah Hex, the DC comics live action film crash and burned upon release, taking in only a bit over $5 million. The Karate Kid held strong this weekend with an additional $29 million. This brings its total to $106 million in two weeks of release.
