The Twilight Saga: Eclipse Has $30 Million Midnight

Wowzers! The Twilight Saga: Eclipse brought in more than $30 million in midnight showings alone Tuesday night / Wednesday morning. This easily beat The Twilight Saga: New Moon midnight showings which held the record with $26.3 million. The first two films in the franchise have grossed almost a billion dollars in worldwide box office receipts. Twilight debuted in 2008 and went on to garner more than $192 million in the US. New Moon debuted in 2009 and brought in over $296 million in the US. The sights are set for Eclipse to do even better, and judging by these numbers, it’s well on its way.
