Top 10 Movies Box Office 2/28/14-3/2/14 |
In it’s 1st weekend, Liam Neeson’s thriller Non-Stop easily kept Son of God from the top spot. With evangelical churches around the nation orchestrating trips to the theater, Fox was hoping Son of God would debut at #1 with a Passion Of The Christ -like debut. Even more amazing for Non-Stop, it played on 3,090 theaters, while Son of God played at 3,265 theaters – a full 175 more theaters. The horrible reviews of Son Of God couldn’t have helped it’s chances much.
In it’s third week The LEGO Movie finally dropped from #1 to #3 taking in an additional $21 million, bringing its total to an astounding $209 million just three weeks. For the weekend box office spanning from Friday 2/28/14 through Sunday 3/02/14, Pompeii took in an abysmal $4.3 million bringing its three week total to only $17.74 million.
