After hints and teases, the retro trailer for Friday the 13th: The Game is finally here!

It’s been nearly 30 years in the making but it’s edging ever closer. Friday the 13th: The Game is coming very soon. After 1989’s disastrous Friday the 13th Nintendo Entertainment System game, fans had given up hope on anything more. Fans will be able to play as Jason Vorhees himself or choose to be a camp counselor.

Sean S. Cunningham, the creator of Friday the 13th,  He said about the upcoming game, which is set for an October 2017 release: “With a new television series on the horizon and plans announced for the thirteenth installment of the film franchise, we felt the timing was right to finally explore Jason, Camp Crystal Lake, and the rest of the Friday the 13th story in interactive form. We have some exciting new ideas for a game that supplies plenty of replay value while delivering the kinds of thrills and scares that fans of the franchise have come to expect.

This game is clearly being targeted directly towards the fans. Legendary special effects artist Tom Savini is an executive producer on the the game. Major easter eggs have been included like Friday the 13th franchise character Tommy Jarvis being a playable character. From the released clips and the information that has dripped out, it seems Friday the 13th: The Game is going to be a smashing success for fans and gamers.
