TNT’s M. Night Shyamalan Tales from the Crypt reboot will have half hour anthology, shorts & one hour serials.
TNT has finally released some additional information on their upcoming Tales from the Crypt reboot. The M. Night Shyamalan produced series will feature an entire block of programming including half hour, episodic anthology episodes, one hour serials and shorts.
TNT President Kevin Reilly spoke with the Television Critics Association, saying:
“There’s going to be a half-hour anthology and then a one-hour original show with some shorts in between. So it’s part of a whole block. The original half-hour, sort of slightly comedic, kind of twisted (story) that Night himself is going to direct, will be a part of it every week. Then we’re going to have rotating original one-hours. Then we’ve got shorts that’ll be part of it too.”
TNT has entrusted Shyamalan with curating an entire horror block of programming that they believe will be a boon for horror fans. They ordered a full 10 episode season of Tales from the Crypt based on the hugely popular EC Comics series and subsequent HBO show.
Tales from the Crypt will debut on TNT in the fourth quarter of 2017.
