Justin Timberlake Goes to OWN (& More on OWN’s Slate)
|OWN announces an exciting lineup of new shows|
OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network announced a whole slew of information on their upcoming programming today. Superstar Justin Timberlake will kick off the fourth season of Oprah’s Master Class on May 11, 2014.. The Emmy nominated show has actors, musicians, athletes and journalists telling their own stories that shaped their careers and their lives – directly to the camera.
Belief is a seven part television event that will explore humankind’s search to connect with something greater than ourselves. Mark our words, this one is going to be huge! (and OWN better release it on Blu-Ray and iTunes pleaaaaase). This is something that will play in high schools and colleges for decades to come! Belief premieres in 2015.
Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots returns Tuesday May 27 at 9pm for it’s 20 episode third season. As we’ve previously reported, the show is not just an OWN hit, its a big cable hit too, drawing 3.6 million people for it’s Season 2 finale!
Tyler Perry’s Single Moms Club has been given a 20 episode first season order. Based on the Tyler Perry film Single Moms Club, this drama series with tell the stories of several single mothers from different walks of life. Single Moms Club will debut in the Fall.
OWN’s also got two original movies coming up that sound exciting. Toni Braxton will star in My Name is Love: The Darlene Love Story airing in December 2014. The film will follow one of the most iconic voices of the 1960’s telling her incredible life story. Tulsa is a two part miniseries event starring Oscar winning actress Octavia Spencer that tells the story of the largest race riot in United States history, where over 300 people were murdered in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
