Robbie Reyes, the vengeance seeking anti-hero Ghost Rider joins Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for the upcoming Season 4.
It’s San Diego Comic Con time and there’s a ton of awesome news coming in from the various panels going on. During the Marvel Television panel, they announced that Ghost Rider joins Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for the upcoming fourth season. The character will not be the more famous incarnation Johnny Blaze (as Nicolas Cage played in two movies) but the lesser known incarnation Robbie Reyes.
In the Marvel comic books, Roberto “Robbie” Reyes was a high school student from East Los Angeles who lived with his developmentally disabled brother. Working at an auto body shop, Reyes enters a street racing competition hoping to use the prize money to move him and his brother from the crime ridden streets. Instead, he is shot and killed and transformed into Ghost Rider. Gabriel Luna will play Reyes / Ghost Rider.
Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb said:
“Season 4 will unquestionably be the series’ biggest, most ambitious story yet, and it all begins with the introduction of one of our greatest legacy characters in Ghost Rider. When the Spirit of Vengeance rides into S.H.I.E.L.D., it’ll change everything.”
