David Letterman to retire in 2015

The longest running late night host in television history is about to end his reign. David Letterman announced that he will retire as host of Late Show with David Letterman in 2015 after 32 years. Starting on Late Night with David Letterman in 1982, Letterman then created  Late Show in 1993 where he has remained ever since. No timetable was given except for 2015.

The announcement was made during Letterman’s monologue on today’s taping of Late Show with David Letterman, which will air tonight on CBS.
