Clash Is A Titan At The Box Office

Clash Of The Titans got off to a rousing start, taking in $61.4 million in its first weekend in theaters. This takes the mantle for biggest opening Easter weekend held previously by 2006’s Scary Movie 4 which took in over $40 million.  Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too? went for a different audience to much success, taking in over $30 million in its first weekend in theaters. This was a significant jump over its predecessor Why Did I Get Married?, which took in a little over $21 million in its 2007 opening weekend. This also marks one of Perry’s highest opening weekends. How To Train Your Dragon dropped just 33% over last weekend, giving it a nice 2nd weekend take of $29 million. Miley Cyrus‘ return to film, The Last Song, took in $16.2 this weekend, far short of the Hannah Montana movie released this time last year.
