Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War hits $1 billion at the box office becoming the first movie of 2016 to do so.
It’s official! Marvel Studios Captain America: Civil War hits $1 billion in box office revenue in just 3 weeks of release. As of Thursday May 19th, Captain America: Civil War has taken in over $314 million in the US and an additional $677 million internationally. That means that by the end of the day today, Captain America: Civil War will have grossed $1 billion in box office revenue. Watch our YouTube review of Captain America: Civil War!
It is the first movie of 2016 to gross $1 billion and only the 25th movie in box office history to do so. Amazingly, it is the 10th Disney film to do so and the third Marvel Cinematic Universe film to do so. The Avengers grossed $1.52 billion, Avengers: Age of Ultron hit $1.4 billion and Iron Man 3 hit $1.22 billion.
