Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast trailer surpasses Star Wars: A Force Awakens to become most watched trailer in 24 hours ever.
Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast trailer was released yesterday and set the internet ablaze as it became the most watched trailer ever in 24 hours. That’s correct, it beat Disney’s own The Avengers: Age of Ultron and even Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Emma Watson stars as Belle in the upcoming live action Disney flick. The teaser trailer hit 91.8 million views in just 24 hours overtaking Star Wars: The Force Awakens 88 million views.
The Beauty and the Beast trailer is just 90 seconds but is very careful not to give too much away. The beauty of the Beast’s castle before decaying from time and neglect. A single shot of Belle as she reaches for the rose. With voiceover commentary from Ewan McGregor’s Lumber and Ian McKellen’s Cogsworth and a faint tinkling piano playing the Beauty and the Beast theme song from the 1991 classic Disney animated movie. The trailer is certainly a literal teaser.
Directed by Bill Condon (Twilight: Breaking Dawn) and scored by Alan Menken (the Oscar winner who did the music for the 1991 animated version), Beauty and the Beast stars Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Kevin Kline, Luke Evans, Stanley Tucci, Luke Evans and Josh Gad. It hits theaters March 17, 2017.
