American Idol Changes Age Restrictions

American Idol has changed the game a bit for the upcoming Season 10. The age restriction has been changed from a minimum age 16 down to age 15.  Executive producer Ceclie Frot-Coutaz states “A lot of young, talented people are now seeking careers and representation before they turn 16. Lowering the age limit allows us to tap into this talent pool.”

The Whore thinks this is an AWFUL idea. Out of nine seasons, not one winner has been 16. The closest was 17 year old Jordin Sparks. She is also the only successful idol that was that young. David Archuleta anyone? What they SHOULD do is RAISE the age limit to 30. I mean honestly, what’s the difference between 28 and 29 and 30? The average age of the winning idol is 23, which is more towards the higher end of the cutoff than 16. Alas, Idol hasn’t called The Whore for advice.
