Alec Baldwin Will Quit Acting In 2012

File this into the “out of the blue” category. Alec Baldwin has announced that he will retire from acting in 2012. The 30 Rock star will throw in the towel when his contract expires in 2012. He tells US, “I don’t have any interest in acting anymore. I’m not young, but I have time to do something else. I consider my entire movie career a complete failure. The goal of moviemaking is to star in a film where your performance drives the film, and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that.

The Whore isn’t quite sure what to think of this. He’s had super hit films like Beetlejuice and The Aviator, and was nominated for an Oscar for The Cooler. In television he’s won two Emmys and three Golden Globes.

Maybe this is a contract ploy?? What are YOUR thoughts?
